Staying on top of your taxation deadlines is crucial to avoid unnecessary penalties and ensure a smooth financial year. Here are the key tax dates you should mark in your calendar for July 2025. July 1 - Mid-Year Tax Review:

The midway point of 2025 presents an excellent opportunity to analyze your half-year financials. Assess your income streams and expenses carefully to ensure that your estimated tax payments and withholding are on target, helping you bypass any underpayment penalties later.

July 10 - Tip Reporting Deadline for Employees:

If you're in the service industry and earned more than $20 in tips in June, be diligent in reporting these to your employer by July 10 using IRS Form 4070. It's crucial for accurate FICA tax and income tax withholding. In cases where your regular wages don't cover these withholdings, your employer will note this on Box 8 of your W-2, which then becomes your responsibility at year-end filing.

Weekend & Holiday Adjustments:

Bear in mind that if any deadline lands on a weekend or legal holiday, it automatically extends to the following business day that isn’t a holiday.

Disaster Area Considerations:

Note that due date extensions are applicable if your location has been declared a disaster area. To verify whether this applies to you, consult the following resources: FEMA: FEMA Disaster Declarations and the IRS: IRS Tax Relief in Disaster Situations.
